OpenOffice.org 2.0 Release CandidateThe first Release Candidate of OpenOffice.org 2.0 can now be downloaded. Our thanks to all who worked on the Betas. But now is the time to test the RC, and we urge all to download it, test it, and file issues with the QA project on what you discover. For those wanting stability, the last of the 1.1.x line, OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 reads OpenDocument files, which 2.0 uses. OpenOffice.org ConferenceThe 2005 OOoCon was a fabulous success. As John McCreesh, Co-Lead of Marketing put it, "I'd like to pass on the thanks of the entire OpenOffice.org community to the organisers of (in my opinion) the best-ever OOoCon. No-one was more surprised than Urska Colner, Robert Ludvik, and Davide Dozza when Koper-Capodistria was selected by the community as the venue for OOoCon 2005. It was an inspired choice, and the team have put in a tremendous personal effort to make OOoCon a real community occasion. We could not have been better looked after or more warmly welcomed. "For those who couldn't be there, please check out the presentations on the conference web site, http://ooocon.kiberpipa.org - created by an amazing team of people from Cyberpipe who eat, sleep, breathe, and live open-source." | ||||||||||||||||||||||
